Early this year, January, is when I posted the availability of Acer Iconia Tab A200 but it will be shipped to all interested people who wanted to buy this tablet with Android OS version 3.2 (Honeycomb). However, according to Acer if you buy their Acer Iconia Tab A200, you’ll be sure to get the latest Android OS version update which happens to be the Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) or Android 4.0.3 – and they did fulfilled their promise. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich update came out last week to all who owns Acer Iconia Tab A200 and they can update their slate device manually.
The Android 4.0.3 or Ice Cream Sandwich for Acer Iconia Tab A200 should be Acer_AV041_A200_1.037.00_PA_CUS1 and downloading this update shouldn’t take that long. Acer Iconia Tab A200 can download it manually and update their slate devices from your Home screen then go to Settings -> About Tablet -> System Update.
However, this may still be subjected and might still be limited by regions. It means that not all Acer Iconia Tab A200 all over the globe would be able to get this update and some might get the update (bug fixes) for their Acer Iconia Tab A200 – Acer_AV032_A200_1.041.00_PA_CUS1 which is still an Android version 3.2.1.
As for the other Acer Iconia Tab families like A100 and A500, no need to despair because the Android 4.0.3 or Ice Cream Sandwich update is said to come out this April for the said slate devices.
